Ahead of Liverpool’s all important match against Tottenham at Anfield on Sunday Liverpool winger Stewart Downing has declared his confidence that Liverpool will triumph over Spurs and come away from the match with all three points.
Liverpool and Tottenham both go into this match on the back of good form with Tottenham unbeaten in their last 12 Premier League matches and Liverpool heading into this match with a lot of confidence after their high scoring victories over Swansea, Zenit and Wigan.
Both team’s defences then are likely to have a lot to deal with, as Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez will look to cause another defence problems, whilst Liverpool’s defence will have to keep an eye on Gareth Bale who is in scintillating form and is Tottenham’s top goalscorer in the Barclays Premier League with 16 goals.
Liverpool will be confident though that with the return of Sturridge to the side they will be able to break through Tottenham’s defence and continue the fine scoring run they are on at the moment, with winger Stewart Downing convinced that this can be done.
Downing said: "It's going to be a great game. They've got good offensive players and the way we're playing at the minute, we can get goals.”
"They will know they are in for a tough game. We played them off the park at White Hart Lane.”
"I know we lost but if you look at the game I don't know how we lost - a great game to play in.”
"The way we're playing and the way they're playing, it's set up for a good game. I'm confident we can get a win."
