Suarez’s impressive performances have led him to being linked with a move away from Liverpool due to the fact that so far Liverpool have had an unsuccessful season.Suarez himself though has rubbished such speculation stating his happiness to stay at Liverpool even if they fail to qualify for next seasons Champions League competition.
Despite this though he is continuing to be linked with other clubs, with it been suggested heavily that one of these clubs will make a bid for Suarez in the summer.
Liverpool though are determined to keep hold of him, and Michael Owen believes the club will manage to keep the Uruguayan at Liverpool despite the interest of other teams.
When asked if Liverpool could see Suarez leave Owen said: “I doubt it. They’ll move heaven and earth to keep him. He’s world class."
“If you look at the places that he could go, in my eyes only Spain is a realistic option. I can’t imagine another Premier League club prising him away. It’s only one of the Spanish giants that could take him."
“The Liverpool fans will be desperate to keep him. When you look at some of the players Liverpool have had over the last few years, like Xabi Alonso, Javier Mascherano, Steven Gerrard, they’re three of the best midfielders in the world."
"You don’t come across those sort of players too often and when you get them you have to move heaven and earth to keep them. I’m sure Liverpool will do that.”
